How do you do it? On my "Is this stupid" thread, you guys are reccommending that I do this.

Check out Auto supply stores. They have window tinting kits for car windows. Most of them work on Plexy. My self I just went and got pre-tented from Lows.

It's actually really thin sheets of plastic you attach to the inside of your window. Look up tutorials on window tinting pages (usually automotive but easier on flat plexi). I've heard it can be a pain in the butt. Plan on trying it over the summer.

just put on a nice coat of vinyl dye. im pretty sure it will work. theres not too much science going into it, just make sure you put it on evenly.

shouldnt you keep this topic all together in one thread?...i ve read that thread and i believe its better if you keep all the common idea threads together so it is more organized

yeah, I guess you are right...

Once I changed the initial question that I asked, and people said that I need to stick to one subject per thread.

Maybe they were just stupid. :D

Ive used RIT clothing dye in a bathtub to do plexi before...did it to a flying model airplane :D
Tinted it a very nice smoke color

try using paint for lexan RC car bodies available at your local hobby shops. Paint the inside of the plexi if you want the paint to look glossy, paint the outside if you want a flat appearance.

i think for the macroblack project @ bit-tech they had success with another product:

i just used vinyl dye, its made for car bumper repair but it works great on plastic. ill get a pic when I get home. it smells like shit however and makes me naucious when I use it, but the results are worth it

theres a spray paint thats specially designed to stain glass windows, thats what you need, you can even get a frosted spray if ya want but yeah should be in home depot or something like that
