Hey my specs are on my signature...I'm wondering how u ppl get so high 3dmarks...I'm only getting 3800...even tho I'm running 2.8 @ 3.2....ATI Radeon 9600XT

also one more thing...how do u change those 4 ram ratio?
3:4:4:8 (thats wut I have now) - what does those mean and how can I change it to increase performance? I just know I on 5:4 divider

well... that score is fine for a 9600 based card. I've broken 6500 with my 9800, but I have more pipes and bandwidth.

Try running your ram at 6.2.2.2 timings and 2.7v. Should make your machine feel much zippier.

except it wont boot.. itll feel zippy alright.... the black screen of zippiness as you wait for a post beep that will never come.

honestly what ram ratios should I do? and is it safe to increase voltage?

realistically.. it will make no difference for 3dmark03 whatsoever. A pentium2 with a 9800xt can come within a couple hundred points of an A64FX with a 9800xt.. all that really matters are vid card clocks. 2001 is a different story. As for what you should run, it depends on what your ram is rated at and what chips are in it. Id need more info that pc3200. Some pc3200 does run at 3-4-4-8, some runs at 2-2-2-5. The largest majority wont post at anything under 2-3-2-6, more often 2-3-3-6

thanks...and yeah for the timings...my ram is not really popular (not corsair, or kingston, etc.), it's just 1gb Hynix 3200 DDR400 - I'm running it pretty stable at 5:4...as my timings...shoul I change it? will it increase much of a performance?

timings may or may not make a difference.. they will help but not really anything drastic. On intel setups theyre not quite as touchy as amd, or at least cas isnt. CAS3 on intel isnt a huge deal, CAS3 on amd is poo.

after some research.. hynix modules are indeed rated at 3-4-4-8. Thats not to say that you couldnt push some extra out of them, but if youre not sure what youre doing dont bother.

thanks I'll just leave it like this then :D...I'm just trying to get to >4000 3dmarks

id REALLY like to see some proof of this...

I happen to have a Celeron running at 433mhz with a 9800pro. I'll download 3dmark and see what happens. :) I seriously doubt I'll even get over 1000.

hahah figures.... some people are really stupid... a pentium 2 cannot even sufficiently support a board like a Geforce2 gts... how on earth would it ever use a 9800 pro or xt? 3dmark 03 relies on cpu too

well... if the P2 board has a 4x AGP slot, it will work fine. My Iwill slot 1 board has 4x AGP. If it is only a 1x/2x board, then stuff is going to not work.

Spend $20 more -- get a 5900SE (or $40 more and get an NU), then immediately enjoy the ~5500 scores.

9800pro is only $224 at newegg. That will get you to around 5500 at default, paired with a decent processor.

lol...I'm not asking for a new vid card...I'm asking for help on this card!!! I want at least 4000

I used ATITool finding Max core and I got 536.36 core...with 48/50 GPU/Memory temperature...I didn't do da memory yet...do I put my default as that core, or lower that? and also is my temp too high?

i get about 1600 with my TI4400, hahaha we'll see what i get with my new AWI 9800PRO next week

I think the best benchmark you should do is to download FRAPS, load up your favourite game, see the framerate, overclock or apply changes etc and then see framerate. Don't forget people benchmark 3DMark at the lowest settings for their graphics cards while people don't play games like this, by time you enable the extra features would a 500point increase even give a 2fps increase?

By the way, not a rhetoric question, I honestly don't know :p.

haha I've gotten over 4000 3dmarks after I overclocked it yay!! however with highest performance setting...

I know there is a brenchmark increase howerver the fps won't go up that obvious

Simple. Reduce your quality settings until your output looks like a non-shaded, Elite-on-an-Archimedes mess, then run your benchmark. Instant increase. It's what a lot of people do to get the ridiculously high benchmarks, and that's why the [H] don't bother with synthetics any more....

I clocked some more of the memory...and I got 4009 with high texture :D
