How do u hide ur desk cables

no pics... but my desk has a cabinet type thing in it for a tower pc, but it's closed and not ventilated well, so my tower sits next to it. Since there's no back on that cabinet, all of my cables run into there. The UPS and all the power cords are on the bottom, and my cable modem, router, WAP, and sound blaster extigy is on the top shelf

hide? HA i prowdly display my cables, they are a sing of pride for me,they show rthe complayity of my knowlege

I hide them by having a large pile of clutter on my desk. I'm trying to go for the whole unprofessional/unorganized look. :p

zip ties, and very strong and thick doublesided tape (for mounting surge protectors. Oh, and hiding EVERY wire behind my desk. ( O.T. trust me, you do NOT want to see what is behind my t.v. stand... it's not pretty)

Heh I just leave them. They're ALL over the place. Even worse because my power cables are right beside my moden and my router, so that's even worse.

I use velcro to wrap the wires into a big ass umbilical cord. It's tough because my desk is glass topped, so you can see every wire. I velcroed the wires to the frame of my desk and it looked okay until I ended up with about 29 miles of cables, and then it was impossible to hide them. At the moment they're all over the floor, and tomorrow I'm going to pick up some of this crap:

Wiremold

It should help a lot and not look too shabby.

Here are some pics of how my cables are hidden. Unfortunately you can also see dust under my desk so don't be too hard on me! ... :( In the pics you can see that I have most of the cables hidden behind a large sheet of cardboard which I painted. I ended up using some fleck spray paint just because I didn't have black in my shop at the time. From behind the computer I drilled a hole in my desk using a hole saw and routed the cables through the hole behind the desk and cardboard where they hook up to my embarrassingly cheap surge protector / power strip. You can also see where I hang my head phones after mounting a hook I bought at lowes and where I mounted my card reader with some velco tape.

Don't have pics, sorry, but those cable clips for RJ6/58 (TV cable, might have those numbers wrong) work well. Just a plastic U shape with a nail/screw. Assuming you can nail things to your desk. A couple more screws to mount the surge protector and wireties for any extras.

I just leave mine out in the open, that way the wire gnomes can't tie them in knots when i sleep.

Well, I have them separated, so if I need to pull a cable or move it, its fairly easy to do. But for the most part, I have them hidden behind the desk and behind a curtain. If you've seen a post of my "station" before, you'll know what I mean.

My uncle use to work for wiremold, but then he changed to a smaller company... hellermann tyton who he says sells better products at a cheaper price. Just thought i would throw it out there.

I tend to just try and forget about the wires behind my computer and concentrate on making the inside tidy :D

simple...make everything wireless..

Ok...YOU be the one to find a method of transporting electrical energy wirelessly w/o frying everything in its path. Then once you do that, give me a couple million dollars since you will have a couple billion :)

Pfft! Hide the wires.. I tried that once.. I had to buy a new desk, and monitor.. And motherboard o_O

If I let all my wires hang out, I figure it makes you seem more intelligent, like I know what they're for. No one has to know I have absolutely no idea what does what down there.

DERN IT!!!!!!

I KNEW I should have taken a before pic. My work bench at the shop was a HUGE mess, cables everywhere!!! Clutter, junk and cables. But I am in the process of modding it right now, and will have it done in the morning :D

I am routeing all my cables under the table, drilling holes jsut behind where my systems will sit. I am also cutting out half my PC hookups. I am going from two four port KVM's to two two port KVM's. I may add more later, but for now this is it.
