Hi, I have noticed my 4770K is always running at 4.2ghz, how do I make it scale down when idle?

Thanks

Edit: I actually saw the CPU scale down a bit, but it is 99% of the time it's up full. Maybe it is already enabled.

Most of time it will depend on what are you doing with your machine... some apps in background sometimes keep the boost always on.. but also would be worth checking the windows power plan, if you are using performance mode it will be always at full clock, you have to go to change plan configuration, then advanced config, then change processor minimum state to a desired percent, normally that plan with 1% minimum state so the chip at idle downclock.

also you have to check in BIOS if you have power saving features OFF. (EIST, C1, C2, etc etc).
