Greetings All looking forward to all of your reply's

Got home the other day turned on my computer and was just sick and tired of hearing the whine from fans.

Just in case my sig isn't working this is what I'm currently running

Main Gaming System
CASE TT|10 ATXF XASER III V2420A
MB i875P|5P1A4D IC7-MAX3 ABIT RTL
CPU P4/2.8CGHz 800M 478P/512K HT
DDRAM 512X2 PC4000 GOLD KIT OCZ
WD 10,000 WD360GD 8MB Raid 0
ANTEC TRUE CONTROL550W
SOUND BLASTER|AUDIGY 2 ZS PLTM PRO
Zaleman CNPS7000B-Cu Copper

Server
CASE TT|10 ATXF XASERII A6000 A+ RT
Thermaltake 420w P/S
Corsair XMS PC2700
MB ASUS P4C800-E DELUXE CANTERWOOD
CPU P4/3.06GHz 533M 478P/512K HT
HD 80GB|WD 7200RPM 8MB
Thermalright SLK-900U w/ PanFlow

Monitor
Samsung SyncMaster 213T

I turned the computer immediately off and decide to try to figure out where the noise is coming from, unplugged all the case fans, that didn't do a thing they are mostly Pano's. unplugged the N/B fan (the one that always fails on the Abit and which I have replaced once before) still the annoying whine, unplugged the OTES that helped alot but still a whine, to my suprise it was the Zaleman on the CPU causing the problem, most of it anyway.

Needless to say I decided to do something about this noise I must have spent the last 2 weeks reading and rereading some of the posts alot of good input from you all and a lot of opinions, makes me laugh to read some of them. Even though I been putting together systems for my own use for about 5 years I still learn something new all the time.

Oh and by the way my server has gotten so loud I just shut it off. It being the early model of the Thermaltakes it doesn't have fan filters and the front filter are such a pain to get to, that I decided I'm going to buy new cases ( I keep growing cats around my cpu heat sink there is so much hair from our cats and it get sucked into the case, probably hasn't help matters any, lol)

So this is my adventure into water cooling I just ordered a V2000 Lian Li, Samsung 120 GB hard drive SP1213C, Blace Ice Micro II radiator, DD D4 pump and 6 feet of Tygon tubing, DD single Bay Reservoir, and decided to update my TI4200 vid card to an Asus X800 pro.

Still need to pick up some Polarflo TT blocks, a few Nexxus fans.

My question to all who read is- is this the step in the right direction and what else do I need to get? .

I have a 3.4 processor waiting to go into this system when I'm done and I don't overclock, I know I need better ram but first I want a quiet rig. Then I will start all over on the other computer in which I will match the exact some case just have to modify the Abit board and do away with some fans. I will post some pic's on this project if you like I just have never done so please bear with me if that works out.

oops sorry fogot to tell you why the dual 80cm on such a big case check this out

I guess I'll talk to myself on this thread

Why don't you order the DD Maze 4 GPU block and the RBX Block they seem to be a good match.

Any Jackass knows how to post Pic's on the forum and who is going to care what your POS is going to look like anyway.

Brillant Idea I will order the DD Maze4 GPU and the RBX Block heard horror stories about the TT block.

thanks for your feed back. And this Jackass has never posted picks before so I guess I will just have to do some self educating.

As far as no interest in my POS project well I have seen alot of nice looking rigs, I just hope that I can come slightly close to how good they all looki

i just got all my watercooling stuff and i'm still building the container, have a lot of homework :(. I got the maze 4 gpu with the a64 tdx, they both look like really nice blocks, good luck. Also if i were you i would get a radiator with a 120m fan instead of the 80m fan, no matter if the 80m fits perfect. But thats just me.

v2000 good choice i have v1200b and i should have gone with the 2000. Go with the RBX have mine on a single loop with my chipset block, restrictive but cools great. If you can i would have gone with a bigger heater core 77 bonei or 89 acura something that can handle two 120mm fans on one side. You got the 1/2 tubing and a good pump, id just go for a bigger heater core since the card and CPU are in the same loop.

Thank you for the feed back :)

I just might put in a 120mm radiator also, I plan to hide it behind the front fan if I am not able to get the temps I want.

My goal is two fold #1 quiet #2 cooling

Finally have a pump I can live with AQZ all the way baby, I first tried the D4, nice pump but my God that whine might as well have someone with their nails on the chalkboard, I tried wrapping it in several pairs of wool socks, dynamat all of which helped but I could still hear it, I'm not going through all this work and expense to have a system that is just as noisy as a fan cooled system.

Sorry I'm so Jazzed that this is quiet.

I have spent the past week taking all the wiring apart and customizing the harness and sleeving it killing time until this AQZ pump finally made its way to me. No sooner had I plumbed the pump in and turned it on that I had to show my wife the first words out of her mouth: "it sounds like a fish tank" all I could do is laugh

while I'm running another leak down test with the new pump installed I'm working on slipstreaming XP and SP2 together. If all goes well by sunday I'll be ready to order my other V2000 case and its water cool setup for my server however this time I may try the DDC pump see if its as quiet as this pump. I'll keep you posted on my findings

as we speak i'm leak testing my system right now, and i understand where your coming with about the pump whining. I've got it all setup now and i dont want to change so i guess i'll just have to live with it. Hopefully i can just tune it outwhen i need to.
