oh yeah, can i plug my record player into the 325? I dont see a phono input and i think that the signal is a little different than standard stereo rca.

Yeah but phono preamps aren't that hard to find.
However my Pioneer has two built in.

You don't need a phono jack. You can buy a phono adaptor at any decent stereo store. It's just a little box the ups the voltage of the signal so you can use it on a regular input.

i ordered the avr-325 for $334 shipped. Thats a alright deal, right? Im glad I ordered last night though because it is no longer on their webpage.

I have a fairly nice setup (Bookshelf/reciever) on my computer. It is great for games and music. Listening to music on them over computer speakers is what makes it worth it for me.

Cause i was thinking of having a more mid range receiver for my comptuer and buying a more expensive one for my HT. But then I won't be buying the one for my HT anytime soon (gotta move out). Should I invest in a more expensive one now and when I do have the room, move it out to the HT and buy another one for my computer?

imo...

i'd just live for today, and worry about my ht receiver down the road... receivers are the component in ht that become obsolete the quickest...

generally speaking, a 100 dollar receiver and 500 dollar speakers sound a lot better than a 500 dollar receiver and 100 dollar speakers...

So find a decent reciever and invest in some good speakers since speakers usually last a long time.

I just ordered a HDA Mystique 7.1 soundcard and want to take advantage of this Dobly Digital stuff. I was thinking of getting 5.1s for my room currently instead of two bookshelf.

I mainly listen to music though and watch movies and shows on my computer a lot too. I'm trying to convince myself to just get a good pair of 2.1s for now and get the 5.1 in the future for the HT. Movies shouldn't be too bad on 2.1s in my room..... I mean I'm that's how I have it now, just want to upgrade to a reciever and some better speakers.

Sorry zackboll if I'm jacking your thread . Let me know how that reciever works our when it arrives. Oh and what kind of setup do you have now that you will be using with that new reciever? And what reciever did you used to have before it blew and how were they?
