Highpoint Raid Controller - Can I use SMART?

I have an Abit kx7 333R. I have 3 hard drives connected to the raid controller (HPT 372), but not set up in a raid array. I recently installed Everest (after reading another thread on here) and found that I can only monitor the temp of the 3 hd's hooked up to the ide controllers. I checked the raid bios but found no options for SMART. Is it possible to monitor the temps of these drives connected to the raid controller?

edit: I also noticed these drives show up as SCSI even though they are not. Not sure if that has something to do with it.
