High temps on new HS setup

Well, after a pretty crazy fiasco involving thermal epoxy and the would-be death of my trusty q6600, I have my setup running again. My Q6600 was lapped (i figured if it was broken already it couldn't hurt, lucky for me it still works), and my old heatsink was replaced with a ultra 120 extreme. Also I now have as5 on the whole thing. I haven't reached the proper burn-in time of 200 hours or whatever it is, but I still think my temps should be lower than they are. Right now coretemp reports 43, 42, 38, and 38 at idle. However I recently ran OCCT for about 2 hours and my temps were peaking around 70 C, the highest being 73. I'm running my chip at 3.6 on my new maximus formula (awesome board), with a vcore of 1.45 as reported by CPU-Z. I plan on lowering it a bit more and testing it overnight.

I figured that after getting the best air cooling available AND lapping my chip, I would get awesome temps, but these aren't too great imo. Any advice on what I need to do? Do I need to reseat the HS?

(i don't have a fan on it, btw, I don't think it would help very much)

for passive cooling, it seems fine. If you put a fan for direct airflow across it it will drop the temps a good ammount.

OT: How does the TRUE fit in the antec 900?

yeah i might consider getting a fan for it, having it blow through the fins and up out through the 200mm fan.

it BARELY fits the antec 900, but i made sure that it did before buying it. There's literally about a quarter inch space between the side panel and the TRUE. but it's a beast, i love this thing.
