hide mouse pointer?

does anyone know how to hide the mouse pointer in windows 98.. i'm working on a digital pic frame and i got everything running, the only thing is the mouse pointer in the middle of the screen
 
When i need to 'hide' the pointer... i just move it off the screen in Win98 (se)... You can usually move it 'off' screen at the bottom or sides.
 
You could make a completely invisible cursor - and change that to the default cursor for every single state (normal, over text, waiting, etc.)
