Hi gain antenna worth it?

Hello anyone had any luck with those linksys and hawking hi-gain antenna kits? or are they all hype?

I've used the external hawking one (link ) and it gave me a noticed increase in signal, and could find more AP's

They are kinda worth it, but it really depends on what you need them for
