Asus 4850 (Stock? Haven't asked)
Antec EA 430W

So basically he is always bugging me on what to upgrade. Yet he seems happy with his performance and is not that bad for the minimal games he plays but like every spoiled kid he always wants to get something and not save his money. Basically right now his mind set is upgrading his power supply and a video card which he is interested in the 5830 that is rumored to be announced/released on Feb 5th from what I hear.

Like I said, I keep telling him if he is not getting any issues why upgrade, to just save his money but like I said he insists on a upgrade. So if he upgrades to a 5830 would his EA 430 be enough? I would presume he would be fine if not a good 500W would do or even the higher model EA model.

Thanks for any advice for him as he is gonna be keeping tabs on this thread.

Yeah, if the Antec EA430 is running the X3 720 @ 3.2ghz with a Radeon HD 4850 smoothly with no issues, it will run the Radeon HD 5830. The Radeon HD 5830 would most likely consume less power under idle and under load than the Radeon 4850.
