• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
    Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

I am a n00b at computers, and I was interested in learning more about the hardware and all that. Are there any good places to learn about everything, i.e. websites?

....got to agree....(and, welcome to the Forums..!!).... :D

My advice would be to first spend some time searching and reading these forums. There are other good sources on the web as well, but there's a ton of really good info on these pages, and some very smart folks that read and post here. Not a bad place to start.

Spend some time reading, then start asking questions. I'll bet the answers will come..... :cool:

There are some sites that have some good information about hardware (I use some more than others, and as to not get flamed, these are in no particular order):

www.extremetech.com
www.anandtech.com
www.hardocp.com
www.tomshardware.com

In addition you could check out the websites (or get a subscription) to various PC magazines ;
PC Magazine
PC World
Maximum PC
Others I can't remember

Specific questions are usually answered better and quicker on forums, but take all of the advice w/ a grain of salt, just because it's the first response doesn't mean it's the right one :D

Only one magazine worth mentioning: [Maximum PC] Get your year subscription (without CD) for only $12.00.
