I had to upgrade my computer months ago, and am now running an Nforce 4 chipset with an XP OS. I recently tried to back up my files with a Toshiba DVD-RW burner and window's recording software reports a recording error every time. Also no 3rd party CD software (ie CDburner XP, Roxio,...) will even find the drive. I have heard that Nforce 4 chipsets have problems with CD/DVD drives, any suggestions.

registry cleaning
different cds
reseating the cables
