I've got two monitors, both using the analog d-sub connector. I've also got a PNY 6800GT. When I plug in the second monitor to the DVI plug using the adapter (and a restart, of course), my computer won't detect it. Is there a way to "force" the Nvidia driver to display out of the second connection? (I've got the latest drivers, 66.93)

Did you change the display settings? Right-click on your desktop then go to the Settings tab and then the Advanced button. Open up the tab for your video card and there should be a choice for setting up multiple monitors. You have to tell it which type of setup you want (i.e. Clone, Horizontal, Vertile, Dual-View).
I've done that. So far, the only option is for a TV as a secondary display. Trust me, I know the Nvidia drivers well, but maybe there's some hidden feature, y'know, like Coolbits? When I use powerstrip to force a secondary display, it uses the svideo tv out.

would the bios have problems with certain monitors all together? Cause i've got a certain lcd that I can't get to work at all with my computer but works fine on others?

Did you use this on D-sub or DVI. If the DVI port is somehow malfunctioning or it has a broken pin, then perhaps the LCD refuses to start on it. Other than that I have no clue.
Have you tried installing another graphics card on your computer?

nope, dont have one to do so with =\ running a crt on it right now but im trying to update bios drivers and graphics card and everything that may help?
I'm using Nvida's latest drivers, XP Pro (legit), and the default BIOS that comes on the video card, all packed into a Shuttle SB65G2. I can get either of the monitors to work on the DVI port if it's the only monitor I plug in, but then I can't get the regular D-sub to work (both of my LCD monitors are analog, so an adapter has to be used). I've tried different dvi adapters as well.
