My friend recently installed it and for some reason he can't hear anything except the sound test. When he plays the sound test it's fine but if he, for instance, tries to play a music file nothing. Any ideas?
 
Yeah, already done that. I can't see exactly what his options are but he said in the playback tab there are two Xonar devices, one that says speakers; the other, spdif. He's tried making both the default but no go. I should probably add that originally he was using a creative labs sound card so I told him to uninstall all the creative stuff and install the xonar software.
