First,I'm not very computer savvy. :D
Now to the question, I'm currently on a P3 1.0G :eek:
I'm looking to upgrade to something like a P4 3.0/3.2
What would be the best option(and why-if you want to explain) to get. Money is a BIG problem, so the cheaper the better. What is the best way to go towards the Mobo/Video
This will be bought one part at a time- and put together whenever everything is collected.
I mostly surf and play games. But just got a DVD burner so put some burning in there.

hmm i would suggest the 640, because i personally use one right now and its great, but i would also recommend the AMD 3200+ or the 3500+, i think the 640 is priced the same as the 3500+, if you intend to game more i would highly recommend the A64's but if you want to do more encoding and want window to run snappier and want the multi-tasking ability then get the p4's
 
It's gonna mostly be surfing the net, burning stuff While surfing, and gaming.
Never had a AMD so don't know much about how they are rated.
I may also get a vid card that will capture TV if that will make a difference?
Will I need to upgrade my HD?? I'm running on a IDE(?) something or other. (See told ya i'm not a computer wiz!) IF so what kind should I look for?
 
640's are nice. Mine ran cool with stock cooler, but really loud. Got Zalman and it's really quiet. Videocard, X800 All in Wonder? I don't know much about VIVO and all that stuff.
 
I don't know all that much either, that's why I'm asking questions so all youse guys can steer
me in the right direction, cuz I don't got that much moolaa :D
