hi,
im trying to make this image have an underwater effect:

i am using this guide:

i follow the guide but i get stuck at the 2nd step where i have to use the pen tool. When i use the pen tool, it doesn't make single lines but rather enclosed areas. ARG! can someone have a go at this or teach me how to do it? thx!
the image will be on a black background page so the text will just appear submerged. I think it will look kool if done right.
