Help with senn 515's

Hey i bought some Sennheiser hd 515 headphones yesterday and i cannot get them to sound good to my ears. I had a pair of Sennheiser EH 150's that died a few days ago. So i researched alittle and bought these. Now that i have them they sound way too tinny and not enough bass,They also sound like their screaming and all distorted. . I had heard that some Sennheiser headphones need an amplifier to sound decent. Do the 515's need and amplifier?

I mainly listen to power/prog metal. I've tried all types of music files from Mp3 to CD and they sound the same on all forms. Is this just the way their suppose to sound and im not used to it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Burn them in, leave pink noise playing on them for ~100 hours
