Looking into buying one of these listed psu's
PC Power & Cooling 410
Tagan TG380-U01 380 Watt Power Supply
Antec Truepower 430Watt

to use with
abit IS7-E
1.8p4@2.6
512 mem
36.7x2scsi drives
lsi mega raid
quadro card
cd rw
dvd rw

don't know what upgrades i will make yet but that's the spec's for now

add it up
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=844691

and that would ba a 510 or a 425 there isnt a 410 ;)
the LSI for just those 2 SCSIs?

the PCP&C is by far the superior supply in that group
but as to if you actually need it....

it seems out of place with those ATX12V v1.3 supplies though technically its a v1.3 as well
but its far more comparible to the current crop of v2.0 supplies (still kicks their butt too though :p )

LOL you are correct :p
but not the Turbo Cool series

few opt for the Ultra-Quiet series PCP&C they have just basic spec compliance
and really arent all that quite either :p (sound being so relative)

the True Power Series are good supplies for what they are
as are the Tagans, given a choice of just those Id opt for the Antec

and then pray that it actually had the amps on the rails I need since I didnt run the numbers :p

(that was a hint ;) )

I will run the numbers. I know at the most im going to need something 22amps on the 12v rail

thanks for your help

yes but then you also need to adjust the amp rating on the supply to an unknown derating curve :p

generally deduct 1\3rd the rated amps for temperature
unless the manufacturer specifically states the rating temperature
and the only ones to have done that are PCP&C (for the Turbo Cools) and OCZ for the Powerstreams
Fortron (FSP Group) likely tests at a higher temperature since thier sipplies consistently test higher than spec, and Enermax, Antec are realtively good, rebranders tend to exaggerate the most, but even manufacturers are often nefarious

Good Luck ;)

Ice Czar I'm now looking at Fortron Enermax and some other name brand one's but none of the do not buy. don't want my pc cooked.
