Hi,

I have a 60Gb Maxtor on a SATA converter and am moving to an 80GB Seagate 7200.7 SATA. At the moment I have windows xp on the 60gb drive and I was wondering if there was anyway to transfer all the data to the new drive and boot from it without having to reinstall windows etc.

I had a search but couldnt find anything as i am a bit of a n00b when it comes to creating disk images etc.

Any help would be most appreciated

thanks

NANA

Yes, you can use a utility like Partition Magic or Norton Ghost. for Windows XP use Ghost 7.5. Be preppared to have issues with SATA and Ghost 7.5 however. There are some workarounds listed on the Ghost support site.
