Help with Blurry text

I finally got my 3008wfp fired up, but the text display is horrible. It is really blurry.

I'm running at native resolution.
My Dvi-D cable worked fine with my 2709wfp.
I've got cleartype turned on.

This blurry text is driving me crazy.

Any thoughts on how to fix it?

I'm hoping it is something I've overlooked and not a bad monitor.

A little better but not much better with cleartype off.

I just turned it off, but it seems the text while browsing is much worse with cleartype off.
 
i.. somehow managed to unlock a mode on my 2005fpw that the monitor is supposed to support but the drivers dont really allow it. the mode allows me to run the monitor at 1680x1050@75hz... but for some reason every few hours the drivers will act up and force the monitor to 16bit color... regardless, @75 hz text looks blurry on the desktop, (but it looks super crisp in games... where as at 60hz, it looks the same both places *shrug*)

something to check/play with
 
Yup, tried the auto reset button already.

If I reduce dpi the text is harder to read. I've got it on 150% right now.

Are you sure you're using a dual-link DVI cable? The 2709W doesn't need one, but the 3008WFP does.

Hit the nail right on the head. I was assuming that I had a dual link dvi-d cable but I took it off and looked at it again.

Yup, single link. dooooh!
