I just installed a new Kingston 1 gig PC3200 to go with my Kingston PC3200 512mb. With 512mb or 1gig alone, XP boots and runs fine. With both memory sticks, I can hear it booting up, but I get blank screen no video. Does the shuttle XPC G5 AMD have problems with 1.5 gigs?

what specific model xpc do you have, and what processor are you using.

if you're running it in dual channel mode, it wont work because both sticks have to be the same size

It's model SN95G5. So with dual channel, is there any way to turn this option off ? Iooked through the manual and bios and can't find anything. I don't care if my system runs slower, I only want to be able to use 1.5 gigs.

Should I cough up the money for another single module 1gb stick and save myself troubleshooting? 1.5 gigs won't work, but I'm sure 2 gigs will.

Dual channel is frequently automatic as it either works or doesn't depending on what you've got jacked in where.

Try manually configuring the BIOS to run at the looser settings between the two sticks (most likely the 1GB module).

If you've got that kind of money to kill then have fun. Not sure what you're doing with it in the first place that needs 1.5~2GB.
