I have been waiting on Dell's 2405fpw to launch. I have a personal friend who works in sales and he just gave me a great price on the display. I really want to pull the trigger on this thing!
But, I would need to upgrade from my 9800XT video card to either an X800XT PE, X800 XL, or X850 XT PE. I require AGP and I have found these cards at various sites.
At the same time, I've read this forum and searched the web on R520 possibly released in May, with an AGP counterpart released thereafter.
I just don't know what to do. Should I continue to wait? Will R520 even be out in that timeframe? Will the R520 even be in AGP? Or, should I go with what's available today and just start enjoying the upgrades?
I realise these are difficult questions, as no one has a crystal ball. But, I think the R520 could be a significan improvement over X850 - particullarly when running 1920x1200. I just worry that the X850 may be pushed really hard at that res, even without AA & AF in games.
Any insight as to what's happening over the next 90-120 days and your thoughts on the current vs. near future cards will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dim-Ize
