Help Me Pick!

Well, just a shot in the dark, but I like the Gigabyte just because of the copper heatsink with the heatpipes.
 
I was set on the Gigabyte, since the Sapphire went up in price, but I read that the Zalman cooler isn't a variable speed unit. So I guess its back to the drawing board for me.....
 
Take a look at the palit sonic edition on newegg. its an OC card, a non reference design. Also has a nice heatpipe cooler. I have heard it OC very well too. (but I was not interested in that). I debated between the Palit and MSI but ended up going with the MSI. It has a 30 MIR, making it 165 after rebate. Also Palit is the parent company of Gainward, if you happen to remember that name, they pulled out of the US market some time ago. The cooler on the MSI is slightly better too. Warranty is comparable 2 yrs for both.

MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte all offer 3 year waranties in the US. Although MSI is a limited warranty.

I have the Sapphire ordered...I'll let you know when I get it tomorrow. It's for another build but I'm gonna crossfire with my 4870 for shits and giggles.
 
Also you want to take into consideration fain noise. With the MSI it runs at 60%, 3000RPM stock, and does not move. However you can change it in Rivatuner.

I would get confirmation that you can change it on the gigabyte or any card your getting. Some use different connectors when they redesign the PCB, like the gigabyte uses a 2 pin power connector for the fan.

Looking at those cards closer, I'd go for something else. At first I thought the Gigabyte one looked decent, but there are no Ramsinks present on the memory or VRMs. I know the cooler is suppose to take care of it, but it would still make me a little nervous personally.

I would go for one of these ...
