I dont know if this will get me in trouble or not.... I'm venturing on a no since it's for a good cause.... anyways, here's the speech:
<sally struthers>
We're all charitable people doing our best to help out the cause. One of those causes is alzheimers. My sister works for the alzheimers association of america. She was there in port charlotte after the hurricane that leveled it, helping to distribute medication to alzheimers patients who couldn't get it. In the process, she also made free lunches for people who were (and still are) made homeless by the hurricane..... my point is that she's a very generous person. She's devoted her career and her education (she just earned a masters in geritology {sp?}) to helping cure this disease, and helping people cope with it.
The alzheimers association has put together a "walk-a-thon" type of event. She's raising donations for the alzheimers association. This is where I come in. She sent me an email, asking for a donation to help reach her meek donation goal of $200. I personally have donated $110. Through the magic of the internet, I've gotten some members on my site to donate another few hundred dollars. She told me when she read this post that I made on my site and saw people chipping in, it brought tears to her eyes. She has since raised her goal at my request, and set it at $1000. Currently she's at $690.
This is where you come in. I'm turning to you guys, and everyone you know, to help my sister beat her $1000 goal. $5... $10... whatever you can spare would help out tremendously. Donations this year have been slow. All the regulars have been donating to the hurricane and tsunami funds. This is making it a strain on the alzheimers association to front the $ to help people pay for their prescriptions.
At any rate, if you would like to donate, here's the link. Just to track progress, add HardFolding.com as your team name.
Also, if interested, I can add you to this list of people entered in the raffle to win a diecast ZX2. (My site is about ZX2s). It's not much, but it's some sort of incentive I suppose. Every $10 buys 1 ticket, no limit on tickets.
The last day to donate is tomorrow. Thanks in advance for your help, guys.
