alright guys, here's the situation...

in my pc right now i have an nforce 2 ultra mobo, 1gb of pc3200 in DC, and a sound blaster x-fi platinum running digital coax to my z-5500's.

just TODAY i switched from optical to coax because there's really no benefit from optical (rather than running it long distances) and coax doesnt have to convert its electrical signals to light, and back again like optical does. both my optical and coax cables are the monster standard series.

when i listen to music through winamp or itunes, my songs skip about every minute or so for a half second...like a cd does when it gets hit. its just a small chirp, but its not electrical interference because its not a popping noise. also, listening to DVD's in powerdvd produces no skipping anomalies like what i experience listening to music. DVD's are flawless.

i've tried messing around with the buffering settings in winamp, but that doesn't help me.

like i said, this just started happening after i switched from optical toslink to coax today, and it has me baffled, and the skipping doesn't occur with anything except for music through itunes or winamp.

thanks and ill be checking back.

jeremy.
