Ok, so now that the 7800's have come out, alot of the video cards on the market have depreciated (thank God) in value. I can now afford a 6800 or a 6600gt. I know that most of you guys are going to state that the 6800 is better, but I saw the 6600gt on sale for 120$. Is this a stellar price or would you guys justify that the extra 40$ towards a 6800 is money well spent? All opinions are appreciated.

Get a 6800 they easily go for 160-180$ now on newegg.com.If you're lucky you can unlock all the pipes and stuff and overclock it.

Ebay is out of the question due to the cost of shipping. Even if I could find a 6600gt for 90$, I would end up losing 120$ since they overcharge for the item to get to me. Also, my luck sucks when it comes to computers so I don't think that I'll be able to unlock a 6800 if I was to purchase one.

Are video card prices most likely going to drop some more?

Yea,probably in a few months.
That 6800 is a nice card all around even if you cant unlock it.Im going to try to get my hands on that and bf2 within the next week.

it all depends on your setup. i mean if your running an amd 1ghz then all of the cards you listed would be pointless...

I agree! The PNY whitebox can be had for $159 shipped here. Mine unlocked and overclocked to 380/900 on stock cooling. Overall a great value even if it doesn't unlock.
