Hey, I want to make a SFF as a cs server during LAN. I would like to be able to oc the cpu and I want to spend below $400. ALSO IT HAS TO BE AMD!

Here are the hardwares I have:
2x256mb PC3200
DVD-ROM Drive
ATI video card (agp)

The hardwares I need:
Barebones (case, mobo, psu)
-or-
CPU
mATX Mobo
mATX Case w/ psu
Harddrive

Suggestions?

get everything new.

PCI Express card (ATi is fine)
I'd go with the AMD opteron 939 socket
2gigs ram
mATX mobo from MSI, ASUS, DFI
As for cases, that is up to you...you got the qpack and a ARIA, some other new ones, mATX upright cases...etc.

I'd grab a s754 shuttle and a sempron or a64 with a 200gb hd and use the rest of your stuff, should be fine for hosting whatever you need.

You think so? I figured he wanted to host some more high end stuff some day....but since it is just a server, he really doesn't need great graphics...so screw what I said about the PCI Express. I do think memory is key though.

Yeah, may want to step up in ram eventually, but for cs it should be fine...

iam doing basically the same thing as you.

387 w/o shipping or tax
and then just add sum ram to that.

the mobo has everything on board so no need for a VGA or anything. the only problem i think I might have is I want 2 of those HDDs for a server and i dont know if that lil PSU can handle it. i wonder if they have a PSU that can fit that case that has a 300watt PSU....
