Help installing esata PCI-e card

Hi

After screwing around trying to install a usb 3.0 card with no luck i decided to just do esata.

Any way i bought this card for the port multiplier

I am a little confused on what i need to change the jumpers to to use the 2 external esata ports.

Do i just take all the jumpers off 1 and put them on 3 ( so it would be 2-3 close)

Can someone take a look at the pdf to make sure

yup. for clarification, you'll be pulling the jumper off 1 & 2, then sticking it on 2 & 3, for all of them.

On a side note is the motherboard supposed to have a yellowish orange light on it, it could have always been there just never noticed it

Actually, based on the USB 3.0 thread, the PC in question is a pre-built Dell with a first-generation mainstream Lynnfield-based i5 or i7 CPU.

Yah, Dells and other mobos usually have some kind of amber/green/red/etc LED on the board, but for the LED's meaning, check the service manual from dell, using your service tag when you enter the support site. or just google for "dell xps 8300 service manual" and comb through all the crap that comes up.
