my friend has a geforce 5200, and looking to replace, probably ATI. Since i don't know much about ATI cards having owned nvidia cards all my life, what would be comparable or better in the $150-$200 price range?

What kind of card is it? AGP or PCI? the card you linked to is pci-express, that won't work.
