I have had my 2001FP for about 2 months now, and I can't find a simple solution to totally cleaning this monitor and get NO streaking.

I cannot find a cleaner to totally wipe away all the streaking left from past cleaners I have used on the screen.....I tried klear screen, belkin (alcohol based) cleaner, and windex once(yes, it was a mistake) any ideas ?

I don't have my manual, does anyone know what dell specifically tells to use to clean this monitor ??

15 sec search for ya

rinse your screen first with a damp cloth to get rid of the "mistake" streaks...hopefully...
0~o windex...OUCH..help..i'm melllting...

I use a soft clean damp cloth then buff dry..iso if theres oil/grease..
instead of using "cleaners"..=.."marketing" to me.

I use Endust for electronics on my 2001fp. Not sure if its the best but it works. Just make sure the monitor is cool when you clean it. I tried to clean it right after I turned it off and it left streaks everywhere. Let it stay off over night and came back and cleaned it right up.

I think I tried every single cleaning solution out there when looking for something that could clean the 1st surface mirror in my RPTV w/o leaving and signs of residue. There is one and only one product I found that can do this, and it also works on the lenticular front screen of my RPTV as well as the LCD screen surface of my 2001FP.

It's Sprayway Glass Cleaner. There are 2 versions. Both are ammonia-free, but one (No. 041) is also alcohol and silicone free as well. No. 041 is a little harder to use (doesn't evaporate quite as quickly) but you are assured that you will not be removing any coating off the surface being cleaned.

i know its not good to use windex, but why? and how does it damage the material? what is the material?

Anti-glare coating is applied to most monitors. Using such chemicals as Windex, which contains ammonia will eventually deteriorate the coating.
