Hello everybody, I kind of need help building a cd duplicator (something like this http://www.cyperceptions.com/products/detail.asp?num=208 and not this size is just to have an idea to build the size I want to) this is for my church and I'm trying to find out if I can build it myself cheaper. I have no idea if this is just like a regular pc or there is something special about it other than the amount of burners that it has of course. I've been doing some research with no luck, so if you have an idea or know how to do it pls let me know.

hmmm.... yeah i think that you could just buy a big ol case with 4-6 drive bays and just buy as many burners as you want. Then fill up your IDE slots with the them and buy an extra IDE card (Promise brand or otherwise) if you need more connections. You could even do SATA i think, as I believe plextor makes them. And then use Nero, which I think supports multiple CD burners at a time to burn. The other components can be budget because it isnt using a whole lot to do the burning. Thats what I would do to make one.

On another note, what are you going to use it for? I do the media stuff at my church and am interested to see how your church will be using it.

Hope this helps !

well I spend a lot time yesterday doing research and found out that a controller is need it (like this ones http://www.esystor.com/shop/Index.asp?LClssCd=040&LClssNM=Controller) and a cd-rom and the burners. I'm going to check in the exact details and components since I know some one that has one and is going to let me see it. To answer your question of what are we going to use it for, is to make copies of the preaching from the master cd. That is mainly for the teachers that are working with the kids while the pastor is preaching and they can't listen to it. I think I can save the church at least $200.00 if I do it myself. What I need to find out know which is what a friend of mine is working on is to find the equipment to record the preaching at the lowest price.

Well i just use my laptop and a cable to record in the preaching as a wave and then I just convert it to Mp3. Thats what I do at my church and it seems to work rather well. If im reading that controller page right then all you need is burners and a powersupply and you should be set.
