Well my current computer is a DELL p4 1.8ghz with a gf3 vid card that I bought ~3-4 years ago, I thought its about time I treat myself with a big upgrade. I'm hoping to get this rig done by early may. This is the first computer i'm building from scratch, so I just wanted some help picking the parts for it, here is what I have so far:

Case - Getting a Silverstone tj-06 from performance-pcs w/ 120mm hole on side window.(best air cooling case I could find, and still decently quiet)
Power supply - pc&p 510.
CPU - AMD Fx55(I hear fx-57 is coming out soon, hopefully before May, if so then i'll get this. Anyone have any news on it?) w/ xp-120 & panaflo m1a
MotherBoard - Well I thought I had this figured out, I had gone with the DFI nf4 ultra board seeing its a monster overclocker, but i'm a bit weary of its stability issues. Also anyone have any news on ATI's new motherboard?
Ram - Not sure about this one, I hear G.Skill and OCZ are the better brands, also i'm not sure if I should get 1 or 2 gigs. I hear its much easier to overclock with just 1 gig of ram, but I'm not sure if just 1 gig will be enough for games that are coming out in a year or so. Any tips on this?
Video Card - This is another thing i'm not sure about. I was really hoping the r520 would be released by the time i build this, but it doesnt look like it will happen. Anyone know some decent cheap replacement vid card I cold use until it does come out, doesnt have to anything special, just better than my current gf3
Hard Drives - Main = 74gig raptor / Storage = 400gb Hitachi
Sound Card - Audigy 2
Monitor - Nec/Mitsu 930sb 19" CRT

I'm not much of an extreme overclocker, I just need something that overclocks decently so in the future I can get the most out of my hardware. Well i think thats most of it, if anyone can help me or has some advice it'll be appreciated, thanks :D

Damn, an FX-55, you must have some nice money. I don't see a need for 2 gigs now, I'd get 1 gig and then later on when games start needing 2 gigs, I'm sure the prices will have dropped down.

Sounds like you are going for the "best" So I would have to say 2x512mb sticks of this ram would be the best: OCZ pc4000 VX Gold

Also, that being probably the best ram. The only way to take advantage of it would be with a DFI motherboard. Need to run it at like 3.3V but you can get 2-2-2 timings at 533.
My vote would be for the
DFI LanParty SLi-DR.
eVGA 6800 Ultra. Maybe 2 in SLi. ;)
OCZ VX EL Gold pc4000 2x512mb
FX55
