I have a dell p991 monitor 17" flatscreen trinitron and I heard a very loud pop and then from there, the screen keeps flickering, is my monitor going bad or is it the vid card?

Yes i did oc my vid card but i have adequate cooling and i iddnt overclock too much, im at 414 / 350

why not just try the monitor with a diff pc to see if its the mon or the pc

well, somehow you need to figure out a way of testing first. Without testing it with a different PC of testing the PC with a different monitor, there's no way of telling for sure.

But, I'm guessing it's the monitor. If you're hearing abnormal sounds comming out of the monitor itself, it probably is. My gf had a dell monitor before, less than 3 months of use - it started buzzing.. So dell had to replace it.

After installing Cat's 4.1 I decided to load the very old game of Diablo not 2 and when I went to play it the ATI menu did not offer 256 color and I forced the game to play and 32bit ( it looked terrible) after about 30 minutes my monitor made a loud pop and the res changed when I closed the game I found that the center of my screen had become blurry in about a 4 inch vertical stripe..
I had another monitor and found that my old monitor was now defective.. I still don't know if I wrecked the monitor or somehow my ATI card overloaded it and blew it out but the new monitor is running fine and I now have 4.2
amd x9 2400 stock
