Heres the problem. I work at a small medical clinic. We have a getto rigged network setup and i need some help finguring out what to do. the current setup is 10 dell computers running windows 2000 connected to a dell server running windows 2000 server. i know doomed from the start but bear with it gets better. the computers are connected to the wall and from the patch pannel the commuters connect to 1 of 2 8 port hubs/routers which connect to a 4 port switch. the 4 port switch has the dsl modem, the server, and the two hubs connected to it. the server is used for holding login profiles, and storage. we have 1 printer that is also connected via a 10/100 connection to this network. the problems lies here. we have a usb/parallel printer that we need to connect to this network. i tried using a print server and connecting the printer up to it via usb and then connecting that to the routers of death but i could only get 1 of the printers to work at once. the print server was having lots of problems working with the printer attached to it and kept saying i had to disable print spooling, which of couse didnt exist for that printer according to the companys support (printer=epson c82). linksys who made print server/switch said the print server was bad and gave me a rma number. my question is whats the best way to connect this printer up to the network. is there an adaptor to connect it up to 10/100 from its current connections, or what. and before you say buy a 16 port switch, trust me ive asked. they are cheap and thats why were having problems. ohh and dont ask to buy a network printer, they cost too much money aparently. bastards:mad: just wondering how you guys would attach this printer given the current setup
