Game has been "playable" since day 1....

It's just the 45 minute queues and random crashes stopped that from happening :)

Game runs fine now.
That's completely false, let's not sugar coat the shit show the first 2-3 weeks of release were.

I'm still debating whether or not I want to pick this up for solo play or with randoms, I don't think I know anyone else who is playing this.

The HD2 discord server is packed full of players who want to squad up, socialize and have new people to continuously play with. Maybe a good route to take.

For the most part, randoms joining my game have been a positive experience.

TL;DR They're mostly just improving the delivery mechanism.
Twinbeard clarified that it's the rewards system itself - and not the actual medals - that are being overhauled, so don't expect any immediate changes to the currency system. It sounds like the only thing being changed here is the delivery system, which will hopefully result in players receiving their medals for Major Orders within a reasonable timeframe.

The whole rinse and repeat thing between the two factions is getting repetitive.

Need the third faction and some modes where all three factions are duking it out with you in the mix.

Also - bring in some 8 player modes!
100% with you on all of the above.

picked this game up and I havent really played it. My youngest (17y old) played it and he is loving it. He wants me to throw a pc together for him now so we can squad up...
I told him, for now learn on my pc and level me up... hah...
Status - Super Citizen...

I have 3 other friends and a bro in law who play so I have good squad size.. just need to sit down and learn it as my first run didnt have the keys down.. too used to MW3 and now rebirth is back so been tappin that on my free time.

I bought it, it's pretty fun. Randoms seem okay so far, though I am mostly sticking to lower difficulties. I think I did a Hard once with randoms and it was a complete clusterfuck. Sucks that if you fail 20 minutes into a mission, you just get nothing.

Been playing this and enjoying it. Game truely shines in the higher difficulties and you pull off a clutch win. Also randomly attacking a base, only for it to explode taking out anything within 100m (including you and your team) results in some unexpected moments and laughs. Litterly had no idea what happened when this seemly small outpost took out half the team from something exploding and it wasn't anything we deployed. Think it might have been a fuel tank or something.

Also the dynamic objectives for the entire player base. This is how you do a live service game. Looking forward to where this game goes.

Probably a undetonated Hell Bomb.

This game is my favorite at the moment. I stopped doing the levels below 5 unless soloing. If you have competent people with you anything 7 and below should be a cake walk.

Difficulty 7 is the sweet spot. You have a chance of finding super samples and extracting with it. Difficulty 8 & 9 is a gamble with randoms.

Does the difficulty or number of enemies scale at all with player count? Because I did a difficulty 4 with 2 other randoms and we got obliterated. I don't think they were very good, but even then I was getting reamed in 1-2 hits by the enemies. It was also a civilian escort mission which, as far as I can tell, just kinda sucks.

I'm only level 4 or so, just started playing, but it's not that complicated, just a matter of figuring out the weaknesses for each enemy and having not-shit aim. I imagine I will get to unlock better weapons and armor as time goes on, though.

Increasing difficulty increases number of enemies and enemy types. It does not increase enemy health or damage. Player count does not impact anything.

Okay, so basically if you're playing with less than a full squad on higher difficulties, you're sort of just fucked.

Pretty much. You're very early days, but if you're around lvl 10-15 and still having trouble with Hard difficulty, try switching up your Primary. A lot of the primary weapons are straight up garbage and need balancing. Bugs are probably the easiest of the two enemy types to start out on, especially when you unlock the Laser Guard Dog Rover stratagem drop.

yeah. breaker shotgun is a good starter and will carry you through most difficulties.

It's admittedly pretty fun to just hop in a random game and shoot some stuff. I have noticed a non-trivial number of idiots/assholes though, which is a shame. But generally it's pretty good.
