My case has 2 heat sensors that display the temperatures on the front display. So I have 2 questions. First where should I put the sensors and second how should I keep them there? My guess would be to put them on the harddrive and the CPU, but I don't know where on the CPU to put it. And how should I stick it where I want it? Tape?
 
If you have an AMD cpu, tape it on the CPU itself (not on the core) and put the heatsink over it and make sure it clears before booting

The second one you can put whereever you want - hard drive, video card, northbridge, just laying in the case to monitor case temps - its really up to you
 
so putting it between the cpu and heatsink won't mess with the heat transfer? What kind of tape is best?
 
It won't interfere with heat transfer as long as you don't mount it on the core (as long as it's not an A64 CPU).
 
As long as the heatsink isn't resting on the temp sensor rather than the core, you will be fine
Scotch tape works fine, or electrical tape (but it leaves a residue if you use cheap stuff)
 
On an AXP system, it's the little square/rectangle thing in the middle of the processor (looking at it from the side with no pins). On an A64 system, you can't see it since there's a flat casing over the core (which is why you can't put a sensor on top of an A64 processor since it'll obstruct heat conductivity).
