Ill keep this short and to the point. I'm looking for some solid surround sound headphones for gaming. A mic is not necessary. The sounds of my enemies must be heard at all times! I do have a sounds card that I'm using more my KRKs, but not really sure if I should go USB or not.

Help me PAPA!

Start with the Sennheiser HD559 for US$117. You can spend more, as much as you want to really, but these are a great start.

You want open back for sound stage and separation, which is what gives you location. Surround sound is done in software these days, whether Creative or otherwise.

I do have a creative sound blaster titanium hd card in my rig.

Do be wary of higher-impedance headphones- the HD559's are 55Ohm, and your Titanium HD supports up to 330Ohm, but there are accessible headphones that go up to 600Ohm like Beyerdynamic's DT770/DT880/DT990 series.
 
What is different about 559 compared to 558? I have 558 and they are good for gaming too.
 
Just get koss porta pro and be done with headphones for life.

And do not use surround... just stereo headphones are the best. Porta pro is very open and ahve great bass extension. So you can enjoy game and at the same time hear enemies coming
 
Forgot to give us a budget.

If you have no budget: HD800 / 800 S has a really large sound stage and speaking from experience, pin point accuracy when trying to determine where sounds are coming from. Which is great when in game. They're really open headphones but man it'll spoil your ears if you use them for any length of time. They're really comfortable, too.

I have a few full size headphones but the truth is I mostly use Koss KTXpro for gaming because they are lightweight and good enough. For music I use the full size headphones I have. Mostly Senn HD558 or beyerdynamic DT990pro.

I own all of these.
The last two are wireless, which I prefer now that I moved to it for headphones. For gaming there could be a little lag but none that I've ever noticed. I've been through a lot of headphones always hunting for the perfect pair. My favorite of the 3 are the Beats Solo3 for many reasons including sound quality and battery life. Just get the PortaPros IMO because they're really tough to beat for $50 or under and think about something else later. Unless you think you might like Bluetooth they're the only complete no-brainer on the market for a fair price IMO. Everyone should own a pair of PortaPros or KSC-35.

It's worth noting that the OP already has a V-MODA Crossfade. As per his twitch stream that he conveniently linked in the first post.

He doesn't have an amp.

So OP, if you decide to go audiophile - you'll want to look for an AMP that can power whatever you're looking to buy.

As others have said, it all really depends on how much you are willing to spend. If you are serious about audio, and are willing to learn about things like impedance, input sensitivity, and soundstage, etc, then I'd encourage you to go to your local hifi shop (or maybe a Best Buy Magnolia Dept - big maybe) and try on a bunch of headphones. I'd advise you to bring along the highest def copy you have of a song (or a few) that you listen to regularly. Go through the headphones and choose those that sound the best to you. Any self-respecting salesman will be happy to hook your player up to a proper amp and let you listen.

Reviews can only take you so far - trust your ears. I have Sennheiser HD 599's, 600's, and 700's, and Beyerdynamic DT 1990's - My favorite by far are the Sennheiser HD 600's, which can be had for as low as $280. I've been looking at the HD800 S headphones, but haven't had the chance to listen to them long-term. By all means, if you have $1,500~ish to spend, try them out.

Though you have a sound card, I would highly advise you to get, at least eventually, a proper headphone amp. The Beyerdynamic A20 is a good place to start.

Be warned, embarking down the path of high-end audio can make pc-building seem like a cheap hobby. You can burn through $10,000 on a single stage of your system, but to some it's totally worth it.
 
Is the Titanium HD'S THX similar to their newer SBX VSS?

If you already have those V-moda's and you want an upgrade to use with your current VSS, upgrade your cans first, then if you're still not satisfied consider an amp only upgrade.

Surround headphones are cans with good imaging and soundstage. If money is no obstacle then buy an HD800S or HD800 as others have stated and enjoy never needing a new headphone ever again. If money is limited check out the Sennheiser HD598, AKG K7XX (Massdrop), HiFiMan HE-400i, and HiFiMan HE-560.
