Headphone port buzzing

On my laptop (see sig), whenever I plug in a set of headphones into the port there is erratic buzzing and beeping. The volume of the buzzing and beeping does not increase/decrease when I adjust the volume and it still occurs when I mute my computer.

I've tried multiple sets of headphones and the problem still occurs. I also tested the headphones on my iPod and there is no buzzing through the iPod + headphones.

I still have a warranty, but I just wanted to know if there was fix for this or something. When there is no music playing or it's switching songs, it annoys the crap out of me.

This happens a lot with onboard sound. Especially in a laptop. You are hearing what is basically electrical interference from the other devices in the laptop. It's kinda nature of the beast to be honest. Even if you get another laptop there is a chance it'll do the same thing. You may want to consider USB headphones. They have their own "sound cards" built in and also typically are amplified making for overall better sound quality.
