Currently I use an Astro A40 for creating voice overs for my monitor reviews, but it is 3 years old and the side piece pops off some times since the screw fell out so I would like to retire it. I also own a rhode video mic pro but my PC is too loud.

I have a staples (Canada postal code=v2s8g5) 25$ gift card and 25$ coupon so I was looking at the Razer Kraken Pro since it is within my price range (80$-50).

Is there something much better available for a similar amount? It would be nice if it is at least as good as the Astro's sound quality wise. Not after something amazing since I have Denon D2000+1713 receiver, but they are currently out of commission since the screw popped out...

Can't really see what is available to you without knowing your postal code. Razer is not know for making durable gear btw.

I don't know about the mice and keyboard but I had some nasty incidents with their audio peripherals from quality control to durability.

I have 3 year old razer mice+keyboard combo and they still work perfectly...now my Onza is another story (exchanged 4 times)
 
Not a big fan of Razer; The hardware isn't always bad, but things tend to be overpriced..the software on the otherhand, is worse. I'd stay away.

For the sub $100 price range, take a look at SteelSeries "Flux" (Limited Edition model) and new "Flux Pro" if you want earbud/in-ear style. Also, look to Sennheiser in their "Mobile" , "Computer, Music, VOIP" and "Gaming" sections for Headsets - they have a lot of nice offerings and there will probably be something that fits what you are looking for (style, budget), but many of their better offerings will be a bit above what you wish to spend.
 
I was just aiming to get something from staples since I have 50$ off there.

Turtle Beach EarForce Z6A seems to get good "professional," reviews but the customer reviews from places like newegg are not very good, especially regarding the durability/life span.
