Headphone amp

Hey!

I've got a question: if i have X-Fi Surround 5.1 pro USB as an external soundcard for my laptop, does any headphone amp separately help with the sound quality (particularly soundstage-wise)? I've read that when you connect a separate amp to your external soundcard, you get the amplificatoin from the amp, but the sound quality of the soundcard. What does it mean exactly?

Basically i'll try to ask my questions:

1. If i get a separate headphone amp, can i connect it through my external USB X-Fi soundcard, and is it necessary? Or is a separate amp with the onboard soundcard a better solution than JUST a separate X-Fi for the best theoretical performance out of my higher quality headphones? And i'm not talking about EAX support.

2. Do most headphone amps come with proper cables to set it up? I've read that many amps come almost empty, you have to get RCA cables separately, though i'm not sure why RCA is necessary? The Hiio K5 allegedly comes with non-EU compatible power supply, for example.

3. If you have a low impedance headset like the 80 ohm DT770PRO, will the amp even matter? And i'm not only talking about going louder, but more crispier and precise bass improvement for the sound.

Also can you name me any $100 amp to use with 80 ohm 770PRO for example?

Thank you!
