This number is way too high. I'm using WD120GB 8MB cache on windows xp with nvidia 3.13 MB drivers, using the IDE SW driver. What can I do to fix this problem?

THanks.

Run it a few times, you will probably get different results.

I get a huge variance in CPU usage whenever I run it. So I don't think it is accurate at all.

HD Tach also has some issues with Windows XP and SP1 that cause it to show high CPU usage. if you are using SP1, that could be the problem.

you might want to uninstall the Nvidia IDE drivers and use the default microsoft ones.
