HDR & AA Not Working

I have an FX-55, Dual Ultras and an A8N-SLI.
I am running 71.89 drivers, at stock speeds of 400/1.1...
(1)In far cry, HDR does not work (massive graphical glitches everywhere)
and in (2) Half Life, my AA does not work. I have put up the aa to 6 or 4 or 2, but the fps in fraps stays the same, and there are huge jaggies.
Also, I have checked in the nvidia settings that my settings are all application controlled...
(3) I am also on ultra high quality in the settings (is there much difference between this and high quality, fps and quality).
(4) I also cannot OC the cards, I do the auto detect, and it goes to 454 and 1.15, but there are again big glitches.
(5) Also, as a last question, in the nvidia settings, should I have trilnear optomization on or off, as I have heard that when on, this gives a downgrade in image quality...

Any or all of these questions answered would be great.
Thanks alot
f

1. What HDR mode do you use in FarCry?
I found 7 to be the best for me.
And REMEMBER...TURN OFF AA in CP when using HDR!!!
AA + HDR = NO go!

2. The same apllies for HalfLife 2...TURN OFF AA in the CP..and use the AA settings INGAME...

You should ONLY use the CP for AA and AF when the game itself dosn't support it! ;)

Terra - And remember...AA + HDR = NO go!

Yep, Terra's got it.

Using the control panel to force a setting is like using a sledge hammer to do detailed work, tends to mess things up. Ieave the settings on their defaults in the CP and always try to controll the settings in the game.

Searching the threads, 99% of the time this is the cause of AA frustration.

Let us know if you are working fine after this advice, as we're willing to offer more suggestions if you still have trouble. Coming back and letting us know that the problem is resolved will also help others in a similar situation but who are waiting to see if it worked or not.

Good luck!
