HDMI to DisplayPort?

Most likely no.
It is possible (not required) to be able to run DVI throug DP - but this is probably intended for graphic cards that want to remain compatability with DVI rather than for displays.

Your best bet would probably be to buy a graphic card with DP and use that for your computer so that you can free up a DVI/HDMI slot for something else. Or buy a DVI/HDMI KVM-switch.

I go with most likely NO as well. If the DP connector is designed to take DVI/HDMI signals in as well, then it is possible. But if so you would likely have receive the adaptor with the monitor.

If you didn't receive an adapter with the monitor is is probably a DP only connector.

Anything can be converted.

But most simple adapters are not convectors. If this thing actually converts DVI/HDMI to DP I would let someone else experiment with that first. There are bound to be issues.

True enough. Displayport is a lot more advanced than HDMI and while DP outputs DVI/HDMI separately (which is why DP to HDMI adapters are so common), converting HDMI to DP takes a bit of processing.

Good find though. This is the first thing that looks like it might be a working converter.
