HDMI 1.3

So...according to Tom's Hardware, HDMI 1.3 displays will come out the first part of 2007.

I'm guessing that PS3 owners and future DX10 graphics card owners may have to purchase a new HDMI 1.3 monitor to gain the benefits (higher color depth / higher res?)

Anyone know if HDMI 1.3 requires a new HDMI 1.3 cable as well? or will current HDMI cables work?

Looks to me like we should be seeking the following for our next monitors:

HDMI 1.3
HDCP
LED backlighting
32bit+ color depth
1080P+ native res

The HDMI cabe is designed to be able to expand to future HDMI specifications. The cable will remain the same. Also, I don't think we will be seeing anything higher than 1080p in the near future. Just looking at a 1080p monitor is awe inspiring, I dont think going much higher than that will yield a better looking picture.
