Hi All, just got a simple question here. I just picked up an HP Envy with the HD5850 mobile, just wondering it's performance equivalent compare to a desktop GPU? I looked all over the place, but can't seem to find much reviews or comparison on it. Would really appreciate it, thanks!

I'm not sure whether it was the mobile HD5850 or HD5870, but one of them were equivalent to a HD5770 desktop. Don't have source, sorry. I was looking around about this when I was buying a laptop too.
 
Envy is a nice looking laptop, it's a shame they couldn't outfit it with a 5870m. The 5850m is probably equivalent to a desktop 5750 with slower clocks.
 
The 5850m and 5830m have the same die as the 5870m, therefore they are all based off the desktop HD5770. The differences between them are in clockspeed and memory bus.
