I've been experiencing some artifacts with my nice new HD4870 in WoW (not a super demanding game) and would like to see if any [H] readers have experienced this and found a solution. (so far I've only seen these artifacts near or over water. )
(my in game resolution is 1680X1050, CCC profile setting the fan at 45% for gaming)

So far I have done the following:
1.) Ran 3DMark '06 - no artifacts, no errors. (performed 5 times)
2.) In CCC, set all 3D settings to application controlled.
3.) Disabled & reduced all ingame settings to off or bare minimum. (then restarted the game)
4.) Enabled or maxed each setting one at a time. (restarting the game when necessary.)
5.) Unchecked "Application controlled" each 3D setting in CCC one at a time - then launched WoW

Any ideas? I am hoping it's just immature drivers, as the problem only happens near ingame water. (oddly it does not happen in EQ2 at all.)

You know I had some issues in WoW... Whenever I am in AB i get these weird textures coming from the ally starting side of the map... Its hard to explain... if I see them again I will screenshot it... but it wasn't artifacting really. Okay so I am not really helping you out here but I thought I would throw in my issue too :)

I somehow fixed mine. I was not able to reproduce the nagrand artifact, but the one that I was having in AB was taken care of by uninstalling all ATi Drivers and installing the ones that came on my cd. Before I had the hotfix and apparently that is the culprit, at least on my end. I would attempt to try that :) let us know if you manage to fix it.

Problem solved - I installed he 8.7 drivers and all of the artifacts disappeared. This card truly rocks!
