My main (old) HD a Maxtor 120 GB was running out of space so I bought a new hd a WD 80 GB anyways my old hd started acting funny like my computer would say I think boot drive error, it stopped working so I installed the new HD and the new drive works fine. Earlier the comp would not detect my old hd but now it is doing so, my problem is that it dosent show up when my comp boots so that I can recover the data I lost. What should I do thanks?

verify they are properly recognized in the BIOS

verify the jumpers are set correctly
especially that single isnt selected (master witout slave present) if a slave is present

alternately try cable select (they will auto detect in the master slave config, the slave in the middle, the master at the end of the cable)

alternately try each as a master on their own channel

once you do get them verified, make sure your BIOS boot order is pointing to the right HDD
HDD0 in the boot order would be the Master on the primary channel
