Is there any difference whatsoever in using the new SATA Power Cables vs the old 4pin Molex connectors ?
Also can you mix and match, like having two drives using the Sata cable and one drive using molex ?
Right now i have all my drives on the Molex and am wondering if it's worth switching them out, or if i should just leave em.

Thanks

I BELIEVE, that right now their is no real difference. However I think that the new plug design has hot swaping in mind, which all that really means is the ground pins are longer so that when you unplug the power the ground pins are the last to disconnect (much like how USB plugs are). Also I believe the new spec has 3.3V on it, so future drives that run at the lower voltage would require them.

But for you changing them out really would be on no benefit.

Agreed.

Oh, and one more thing......HOLY SIG LENGTH BATMAN(dtes17)!!!!

Better change that before a mod gets yah.

Ok, updated the Sig , sorry it was so long, i thought it was a lot shorter.
Next thanks for your help on the topic.
I've decided to leave everything as is then. Someone else told me about hot swapping, but i have no need to do that anyways. So looks like all is well.

Thanks
