Hi, I'd like your help with this...
Today I woke up to find my computer a complete mess.
It has two drives, a C: and an F: drive. The problem is in the latter, a Samsung 160GB SATA.
During nighttime, I've scheduled, among other things, a disk defrag.
Yesterday I had left the computer to download a bunch of anime episodes using Azureus (a bittorrent client).
From what I could understand from the messages, it seems like the defrag was trying to move a file that Azureus was trying to write on, or something like that. Anyway, I don't know if this is what messed things up, because this sounds like something defrag should be able to handle, but the system was a mess.
Both programs had stopped with error messages, explorer was very slow to respond, etc. I figured a reboot was required. When I rebooted, the moment I signed in, I kept getting these annoying messages about "delayed writing" of files. How windows couldn't write this or that file, and that the file was lost. It seemed like 5 files in total, and it was telling me about one after the other, and wouldn't stop.
If I tried to access the F: drive, it told me that I couldn't due to an I/O error.
Right now I've unplugged the drive, and windows are working fine.
But I'd like my drive back, with all data intact if possible...
Does this sound like a drive failure?
Does it sound like only a format is going to do the job?
Any help is appreciated,
